Dr Alireza Esfahani became a Cyber Security lecturer in the School of Computing and Engineering (SCE) at the University of West London in August 2023.

Alireza obtained his PhD in Telecommunications through the MAP-TELE doctoral program at the University of Porto, Portugal, in 2017. Following his PhD studies, he gained valuable experience as a postdoctoral researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicações in Portugal, where he worked from July 2017 to May 2019.

Throughout his career, Alireza has made significant research contributions and boasts authorship of more than 50 scientific works. Notably, he was involved in the successful proposal writing for the "SECRET" project under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie program (2.3 M Euros). Additionally, as a postdoctoral researcher, he played a crucial role as a task leader in the "Power Semiconductor and Electronics Manufacturing 4.0 (Semi40)" project, which received support from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, involving Austria, Germany, Italy, France and Portugal. Alireza has also served as a research associate at SnT-CritiX at the University of Luxembourg. In this capacity, he played critical roles in two EU pilot cybersecurity projects, namely "SPARTA" and "CyberSec4Eu." Alireza is a member of the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) and IEEE. From 2021 to 2023, he also held a lecturing position at the University of Greenwich.
